WP-Pro on an XPS M1530

I already did this once with a lot of help from this forum, but I wiped the drive and started from scratch. This is on another brand new XPS M1530 and this time I would like to leave the Vista boot loader partition (?) intact but install XP-Pro in such a way that it will always boot to XP_Pro. As if Vista wasn't even there anymore. Is this practical? Advised? Alternative suggestions?

Meaning dual-boot? Or just keeping the boot loader - this I am not sure if it will work out.

As far as always booting into XP on a dual-boot machine, it can be done.

cheers ...

XP on a Vista XPS M1530

This is for a friend who just wants to keep the option of restoring Vista some day, but wants XP to be the default OS without having to "choose" it on each boot-up.

I think the program I used was Easy BCD it allows you to edit the Vista Boot manager, and if I recall selcet the XP os to Boot by default
