Hibernation won’t switch on on XPS 1710

I can’t enable hibernation on my laptop. I’ve reinstalled system recently and installed all (at least I hope) drivers. If I try to enable it in dell quickset feature (tick off the option), after pressing those next, next buttons and returning back to quickset, it’s not enabled again. If I try it in windows power options, I keep getting message “the file cannot be access because it’s being used by another process”

Do you have any advice please?

Try this to see if you can get your comp into hibernation access:

. Click Start and Shut Down,

. Point the standby button whilst keeping the shift key down

. A new hibernation button "should" appear - click it while still holding the shift key.

Is your computer properties set with ACPI (Devices Manager)?

I’m not sure what you mean now. In device manager there is a “computer” folder with:”ACPI multiprocesor PC”. But how does it relate to my problem?

It is fine that ACPI is being set, if not there will be some issues with power management.

I am out of idea from the OS stand point, may be someone with this Dell utility can help you in getting a "hibernation" access on the comp.
