Trekstor Maxi t.u External Hard Drive clicks!

Hi,

I have a 160Gb Trekstor maxi t.u External Hard Drive. When I switched it on today all it would do was click a few times and will not be recognised by my laptop. I suspect that something inside has jammed. I have taken the two screws out of the end plate but the cover will not come off. Any ideas anyone?
It is a DSMTU-CYa Model.

Sounds like the drive is failing. Stuck at face plate?

At the end of the Drive there is a cover which the two connections for the power and USB leads plug into. The cover is held on by two screws. I have removed them but the cover will still not come off. I am reluctant to force it in case something inderneath is connected to it. I just want to get into the Drive to see if anything obvious is wrong. Info on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
