Is the keyboard comfortable? Does it come with a keypad? Does it get hot? Are the function keys useful? What are the function keys? (list them starting with F1)

1. Remove battery

Base
2. Remove sata hdd cover (2 screws)
2a) Remove sata hdd
2B) Remove cpu cover (4 black screws - same size)
2c) Remove cpu cooler (3 screws 1-2-3)
2d) Remove wireless antenna cables (grey and black)
2e) Remove single screw (silver) from wireless card
2f) Remove wireless card
2g) Remove dvdrw securing screw (located in the bend of the cpu cover recess)
2h) From the rear push the dvdrw out of its housing.
2i) Replace the dvdrw securing screw in the bracket.


Open lcd 180 degrees

Keyboard
3a) Between the top of the keyboard and the Lcd are 3 clips.
Use a small flat screwdriver and push the 3 clips towards the lcd. (F2, F8, PRTSCN)
The keyboard can now be gently lifted and the keyboard ribbon cable released from the motherboard.
3b) Disconnect touchpad cable from tp1
3c) Disconnect microphone cable from j_intmic1
3d) Note centre connection between tp1 and j_intmic1 not used in model M720SR-P

Base
4a) Remove 10 external screws (black)
4b) remove 6 internal screws (black) (1 in sata bay)
Note: The long screw fits into the centre recess hole adjacent to the battery compartment.
4c) With the lcd closed, remove the 2 silver screws located beside the lcd hinges on the rear.
4d) Open the lcd 180 degrees.
4e) With care, the palm rest can be separated from the base starting at the lcd side.
4F) Check the palm rest underside for broken stand-offs.

LCD
5a) Remove 4 rubbers from the lcd top face and 2 rubbers from the lcd bottom face.
5b) Remove 4 black screws from the top and 2 black screws from the bottom.
Note. Bottom screws are thicker and longer than the top screws.
5c) With care, the lcd facia can be unclipped. (start at the top).

I have replaced the screen and hope the above is useful to someone.

upload details for other laptops which I have dismantled."
