Extensa 7220 loud beep at bootup, then normal

Hi guys, need help or advice on this strange issue that's just started happening on my daughter's extensa 7220 laptop.

When turned on it goes past the Acer logo screen then a blinking cursor shows at top left of a black screen & what I can only describe as either a very loud continuous beep or audible alarm sounds for up to 3/4 mins then the pc will continue to boot into Vista & work normally.

I've run utilities like HDtune to check the hard disk - it says its fine, I'm going to run memtest for the memory, I've read about the phoenix bios codes but it doesn;t sound like any of the sequences.

Could anyone advise me on what it is & how I can get it fixed pls?

Lappy is 1yr old in three days time :-(

I would get hold of acer online (Fix My Acer) and get the info into them before warranty expires (1 yr) Then, If you need to send it in, it will be covered by warranty. It may cost you shipping one way, but you will get your laptop fixed right.

Saugen, thanks for your reply is the (fix my acer) that you mention a place on the acer website or a 'thingy' on my laptop that i can click into ? sorry for being so dim but i simply don't know.

Sure greatful for your help & the link, turned out to be the keyboard after all, daughter'd spilt coca-cola in it & forgot to tell me... anyhow it's getting fixed but daddy's got to dip into his pocket.... again!
