Very cool indeed. A mix of Sony, Macbook, Acer ... in my opinion.

it does look like a pretty good effort. the other interesting point is that the mobile i7 and more powerful mobile GPUs are just around the corner

Very true, interesting to see that HP is jumping with a 15.6" to start with this series.

cheers ...

I, for one, is highly interested in this baby. I think i like the Envy 13 more, but no i7 core was a bummer.

In a few review I've read, the Envy 15 suffer from heat issue. In idle mode, the palm rest does get fairly hot and reaches 40c. Where as the Envy 13 is great on heat and does a better job.

Hot dog, HP still carries this "heat" issue marking on their forehead ... I was hoping that they would get better with this introduction.

cheers ...

overprice hype

Play at bestbuy. It has no CD slot. Same price as Mac. Over price. Over heat. Rather get Mac. Excuse for short type. On blackberry . Envy 13 damn over price. Macbook pro 13 is better Deal. Look nice though. Best buy in Pasadena has them for show.

Can't wait for Sony or apple to have i7 core.

Does the 15 hold 2 sata drivers?

Overpriced? Not really if you actually look at each others specs, and when they refresh it will probably be the same.

Envy 13 isn't i7 Core. It is Core 2 Duo SL...

Awesome!

Was at Bestbuy @ Pasadena, California yesterday. They had both the Envy 13 and Envy 15. Both looks extremely nice. Having in the aisle of other PC notebook, these standout by far. It is thin, sleek, and definitely worth looking at

With that said, as you look at the unit, you will notice the $1999 price tag on Envy 15 and $1899 price tag on Envy 13. As you look around, the Macbook Pro 15 and 13 both carries lower price tag!!!

A few thing I notice
- No CD slot on the Envy 13 and Envy 15
- Keyboard and touchpad does resemble Macbook.
- LCD screen with the black ring does resemble macbook
- It does seem a bit lighter than the Macbook
- The arm rest seems a bit warm for a system sitting in idle. Heat at the bottom was a bit hot
- Envy 15 comes with 6GB RAM vs Macbook Pro 4GB.
- Envy 15 comes with 1GB ATI vs Macbook Pro duo video card

Overall it looks nice, but it is Windows neither less. It is over priced for a Windows box. I would rather see Envy 15 with 4GB @ $1299 than 6GB @ $1999.

I am more interested in the Envy 13, but it doesn't have i7 Core and only 3GB RAM. For being $1899 and no i7 Core, that is ridiculously over priced. A plus is it does claim to have 16hrs battery life.

You wont find a Macbookpro with an i7, 8gb of cheap ram up to 16gb if cash allows and a 1gb ATI card is out of the question for MBP. The loss of the optical drive was an obvious choice to enjoy 4 ram slots and 2 hdd bays in a body thats pretty much akin to the MBP but smaller and lighter. Lets see how she performs against the m15x when mine drops into my lap.

In a way, that is true. However you should be able to find (when they refresh the MBP) the i7, 4GB with dual video card for about that price or less.

All of those stuff in the Envy on leads to heat issue. I am not saying it sucks. I was very interested in getting one. Just a bit disappointed at the price and heat issue. At the end of the day, it is still a PC, no head turner there no matter the stuff inside.

Would be nice if they give you a more basic model and let you config up. I like the body, would be nicer not to have those design on there.
