All of those stuff in the Envy on leads to heat issue. I am not saying it sucks. I was very interested in getting one. Just a bit disappointed at the price and heat issue. At the end of the day, it is still a PC, no head turner there no matter the stuff inside.
Are you saying "it is still a PC" because computers aren't that exciting to you anymore or "it is still a PC" as opposed to a "Mac"? If it's the former, I guess you've moved on in life and that's cool. If it's the latter, there's pretty much no difference between a "PC" and a "Mac" unless you buy Apple's marketing propaganda.

I am on Core 2 Duo Asus desktop right now w/ Windows 7 Enterprise 64. Lol!

PC for the most part owns the sub $1000 laptop arena. On the other hand, Apple owns the laptop realms for laptop above $1000 (saw it in some article recently).

With that, having the Envy, while nice it is still a PC. To majority of people out there, if they are going to shell out 2000 for a laptop, you have 3/4 of a chance they will get a MBP. The other 1/4 would be crazy gamers who will be buying the Envy or Alienware.

I do really like the Envy 1" thickness and form factor. Just depress of the price. I don't need 6GB super fast RAM, 4GB is fine with me. 320GB HD is fine with me, so with that, if they have an ENVY around $1400, i am game for it.

mine should be in monday-ish and we'll see the whole works

I ordered one last Sunday. With the bing.com discount I got it for $1350. I wouldn't have paid the $1800 they were asking.

The 1920x1080 screen really helped me make my decision. I'm excited for this computer. I'll let everybody know once I get it.

I'm hoping it will run Ubuntu well. I'm concerned about the audio drivers, but we'll see what happens.

A number of people canceled their order and having debating on it over at notebookreview.com

What they post as spec isn't what the system has.

Are we saying that HP is not delivering what it is being sold, or that the offering configuration is not flexible enough for customers, or that the customer was confusing between a base system and a configured-to-buy one?

Rule #1 of Fight Club is we don't talk about NBR?

Sure, why not? We don't see them as "competitors" and informative news are always welcome.

But you are correct in that each forum has its own crowd and character What the members of other forums think and what NBF members here think are irrelevant to each others.

I dont like the nazi approach to how they trewat NBF people over there but we each have our relevent place on the net. Besides have any of you every walked into one of there "Owners lounge" threads? its a 100 pages of jumbles of words and things you'll never find at least the thread rep threads ar esomewhat entertaining. I went thru 100 pages in the ENVY 15 thread they have and only 3 people supplied questionable benchmarks and almost no one had pictures or anything up.

My ENVY 15 should be here around the 11th so stay tuned for my m15x ish type review/preview and comparrison shots to go with it!
