Seagate or Samsung

Hi there, if anyone had to buy a HDD based on these 2 brands, which one is better? I heard Seagate and Maxtor are the same, is it true? Here I couldn't find WDigital, there's only the two with good price reason I'm asking which would be better.
Thank you.

I have had lucks with all drive brands so far. But model and size can sometimes make a difference. What specs are you looking at?

cheers ...

Hey there, well I didn't think of any specs but size. Reading some reviews, Seagate isn't silent as Samsung, so far the main issue, I never worked with SG or Maxtor so I was hoping some light on it. The prices are almost the same, few bucks of difference. Hitachi is pretty good too, but I couldn't find here either...

Any sizes in particular? We have some threads in the News Section about latest drive introduction. I personally prefer Fujitsu and Hitachi drives myself. Reliable for me so far.

IMO the Samsung drives are lower quality, and have a high failure rate

i own both brands, both brands are good and both brands have failed. I will say I was impressed with the Samsung RMA process, sent my defective drive off and had a replacement 4 days later. not bad.

I would go for Seagate... But if Western Digital is available, I would surely do it.
