Acer Aspire 3050 drivers.

I got some problems. After being forced to format my acer notebook and install Windows XP again I am not able of getting some things to work.

For example I am not able to use my wireless internet no more and can not find any drivers online that could be missing.

Also the 2 switches on the front side of the laptop (whatever they are for) do not burn no more (the lights next to them), not even when I switch them.

Is there a way to get my notebook back into normal state at least with the drivers for everything so it all works the way it should again and I can use my wireless internet connection again?

No hardware upgrades have been made beside adding a bigger HD (of 350 gig) and the adding of more RAM.

It would be great if someone on this board could help me I am not able of fixing it myself it seems.

Is it normal when I install the wireless LAN drivers that I get the following messages:
Quote:
The driver files you wish to remove will not be removed as the corresponding card is not inserted.
Quote:
The device may not be present or could have been ejected/unplugged from the system.

Insert or Reinsert now.
Quote:
The installation program installs the driver automitically when the client adapter is inserted. Insert the adapter now if it is not yet inserted, cancel the Found New Hardware Wizard if it appears, and proceed with the installation. Click OK to continue.
I have no idea why it is telling me this the card has been in there from the beginning when I bought this thing.

What are the 2 lights that stopped working? Can you take a pic with a close up enough to see the markings? Have you tried to re-seat the wireless card?

cheers ...

I have no idea how to re-seat that card. Does that mean take it out and out it back in?

There are no markings next to them. But if I remember right if I used to switch one of them it said "LAN" on my monitor.

And maby this will help. This is output Linux gave me (I got Linux running in a virtual box the actual OS is Win. XP).
