You were in a better posistion, my Dell Warranty ran out, I had to do "out of warranty repair" I highly doubt they will give me a replacement.

Ofcourse they won't give you a replacement. I was saying you can almost buy a new laptop for just the cost of the reaplacement gpu. May even come faster than if Dell ever gets new 8800's in. My warranty runs out next June and I plan on extending it for Hell of a long time.

My God wtf. I did a Dell chat and was told my system is in the build-stage. But after that this is what I am bombarded with.... "Since you are taking an Alienware M17X, I understand that you are an avid gamer, or a person who would be interested in hi-end quality blue-ray movies. Am I right?" "And I just wanted to tell you that, we, at Dell, wanted to give high-end premium customers like you a benefit, with an offer"
"We are providing a Sony 55" television for a discount of $700 only on today"
"would you be interested in any other electronic goods, because we have a lot of offers going on at the moment, here at Dell" "You can just mention the type of product you are interested in, and I can provide you the best deal possible"
I wanted to tell her to STFU and say if I am a premium customer and was treated like shit before why would I spend any additional money at Dell.

Thank you, thank you. I hope everyone on this board gets what they deserve. Hopefully people can read this thread and see that the M17x is a more than a reasonable option and not get screwed with 8700's or a Studio 16. I hope it ends soon for you, Woodstock, Nonya and everyone else who has posted here and all over the forums. Now I just wait till tomorrow to see if it is correct and intact. The nerves now build...

Gratz $p33D !

Hopefully, all of us will have our laptops replaced.

Right now i am still waiting for an answer from DELL, they said that in the next week they will tell me their decision, so that i know if i take the money back option.

By the way, does any1 know the status of the 8800 gtx ? are they still stalling?

I am getting anxious. It is 2:50pm and the latest should be 3pm. FedEx site still says on time and it is on the truck. My case manager told me it is 100% brand new. They do not have refurb's of the M17x yet to give as replacements. But I will let you know how it looks.

It came at 3:23PM. Black box with specs and blue return form sealed on the outside. Opened it up. I will post some pics soon. It is completely Brand New. I got the Alien Cap and all the accesories. Took the laptop out. In perfect condition. No refurbished sticker or anything. Can't wait to turn it on soon.

Also it fits in my old M1710 backpack so I don't need to buy a new one.
