Is there a way to use a 320GB hard drive in a Ferrari 3400? I have a WD Scorpio installed and the bios is reporting only 131GB. I have the latest version that I know of (3C23).

looks like no 48bit LBA available. might be able to use the wd software to bypass the limitation. or, jumper the drive. check the wd support page for info.

Yesterday I went ahead and installed windows since I never know when I will need the computer. I did a 50/80 partition and never saw more than 134GB capacity showing anywhere. I put a version on that included SP2 and many more updates. After loading windows I went into the drive manager and only the two initial partitions showed. Now today I go in there and I see a 170GB free space so I formatted it and I'm in business. All I did was install SP3 and all the updates to current. HDD Health still shows drive capacity at 134GB So I dunno what's up for sure. Seems weird it would be windows because I don't have this problem on my desktop that also gets SP2 to start off and it shows all of my 250GB drive. I guess you are saying the hardware doesn't support 48bit LBA so I wonder why it finally showed up later, strange. I asked Acer and they wouldn't help me without a fee. I checked WD support and they linked to a work around software from Intel but it was for Intel chipsets. Thanks for the reply.
