dell repair process

So i sent in my dell in for repairs to the depot last week and just today they provided me with a repair reference number and a exchange reference number. I called up tech support but they didnt have any other information but the information i was given in the email.

Dell just said they are going to replace my system because they are not going to repair it due to "beyond economical repair"

So the question is how long is it that i will actually know what kind of system they are replacing it with? I still prefer it to be the same as my e1705 as it has a 7900gs card inside the notebook. If they are going to replace it with a e1705 again.

Normally you get an email with an order number, once you have that you should be able to go online and check what it is.

If you do not hear anything in a few days i would call them.

i noticed you Q? about the replacement for the E1705, it is not likely you would get another E1705, they have not been made in some time, and anyone you would get would likely be a refurb and not nescessarily a good one.

Its anyone's guess what you would get, It could be a refurb or they may build a new one which my guess would be a 17 inch Studio.

the studio with the 3670 ati? On notebook check the 7900gs performs better than the ati 3670. Hh man definetly something i do not want if the studio 17 had the studio xps 16 gpu that might be a different story.
