XPS M2010 Start up Issue

Hi, my computer is not starting up. It decided to restart by itself last night after I wanted to preview a music file I was downloading. When it truns to start, the windows blue screen appears. I try doind a start up repair but it says that it cannot fix the problem. I try to use system restore and it says that there is no restore point. Is there anyway to save my computer?

Thank you,

Lucas

Your OS version? Can you start in Safe Mode?

It is Windows Vista Ultimate, I run it on safe mode and I try to restore the system but it says that there are no previous dates in the system.

You can try looking into the Event Logs and see what caused the BSOD. My guess is probably a bad/incompatible driver somewhere.

Thank you, How can I identify the log that caused the problem?

Start->type in "event" in the Search field; this will bring up Event Viewer. There you can choose "Action" and view the Windows log. Look for any errors and match the time of the BSOD. It will then tell you pretty much the reason and cause behind it.
