Upgrade options on HP DV7-1023cl

I got a used HP DV7 for an awesome price. So far I am happy with it and had 2 questions:

1. It has the C2D P7350 CPU which does not support Intel VT, what CPU can I upgrade to? I would like a QC (Q9000?) or at least a quick C2D (P9600 or better?)

2. Any advice on how to find a 1900x1200 17" LCD panel that will fit/work?

The 8GB is on order as are the 2x500GB drives (7200 of course).

I will be using it as a portable server for customer demo's, running virtualization in Windows 7 or Hyper-V as well as playing some WoW.

Thanks in advance.

1. VT-CPU would not work if the BIOS is not being unlocked for it. Try a T9300 as an upgrade choice?

2. http://www.lcds4less.com/hp-laptop-screens.shtml

Good lucks.

cheers ...

Looks like that site offers 1600x900 only. I think I will look for a 1900x1200. I'll keep you'all updated to my progress.

Why a T9300? It will drop the fsb to 800Mhz. Likely BIOS support available as DV7's that came with VT CPU's. So yes P9600 I don't know about the Quad working or not but think heat would be too much if it did even work. HP's have heat issues I would not push.
