this was yesterday, they added the studio 17 to the new offer... they really dont want to give me a gaming rig for whatever reason. i cant go to a 128 bit gpu (which is all that is offered in either...) it is just too much of a downgrade

i have been sticking to my guns for 4 months now, but when i mention the m17x i just am completely denied. i have already escalated it as far as i can go so there is no one else who will help me. it is really aggravating. i may need to go to a Dell Precision M6400, but i dont know if they will even go for that...

it's mind boggling what they have done to you

honestly - it's time to call a lawyer

i definitely would, but my wife wants me to just give up because i spend so much time and am so stressed out about the whole thing... she controls the money and wouldn't go for it. i seriously had to go to the doctor because my ulcer has started bleeding...

it is mind bottling

Another option Woodstock? Request and take a refund and be done with it. Good lucks mate.

Got to agree with this. You've given them a chance to repair, which they haven't taken. The other two options that you can request are replace or refund. The replacement is a joke, so a refund is on the cards. If they don't give you that, then I'd head to court. Of course, over here it's cheaper to do that. I can walk into the Small Claims Court for a €15 fee.

i only paid 1300 bucks so my refund would be like 600 with the deprecation, cant exactly get a replacement gaming rig for under 1500, so thats not a good option

You need to start escalating up the management foodchain as soon as possible.

Maybe I'll start doing that

i talked to my rep earlier today and he refused to do anything for me, i just told him i wanted a refund!

but i just got a call from a new guy and he was very concerned about my situation and is going to do a "special one time only" alenware m17x replacement!!!!! i wont believe i until it is in my hands, but yeah.... we will see, at least it is looking up a bit

"Dear Aaron,

This is with reference to our conversation earlier today. I have set up a replacement for the laptop and the confirmation number is .......... It would take approximately 5-7 business days for the replacement to be processed.

Please feel free to email me if you have any concerns and I will be more than happy to help you."

^^ Yep, we will share your joy when you have the notebook in your hands. In the mean time, chill it and take a pepto bismol for your heartburn.

cheers ...

I really hope it works out for your Woodstock

me too, i was completely shocked. my rep told me there are no other choices from the studio 17 or the xps 16, thats it, then he said i could only get an xps system so the alienware was out of the question... i was like, wtf, you are offering me the studio 17, that's not an xps????? that rep was full of shit

i am hopeful because he promised me a m17x, so i suppose it might happen
post #115 of 216
lol, my reps have disappeared like ghosts. As soon as I said the 17x works they don't answer me anymore. I am going to give my rep a call one more time. I demand to be compensated for my 6 months of Dell Hell.
you will not get any compensation - it is in the TOCs
post #117 of 216
well, as i thought it all fell through... getting a refund...

My exchange notebook was in production for 2 weeks was supposed to ship today and now it is cancelled, spoke with Dell they said that there isn't a reason why it was cancelled but they are looking into it. How many people have received an Alienware for their replacement? I just can't believe that my system sat in production for 2 weeks only to be cancelled!!!!
