Is the M1730 / 8800M GTX SLI fully dead and out of the system? - Page 11

I believe in a even heat up, so I throw it in there and let it go straight to 380. Keep in mine i have an electric oven so it goes up there pretty quickly and and it stays there pretty even. If I had to guess, I would say yes you want an electric oven and you want to keep things even and gradual as much as possible. MY oven started up right at 200 something when I started her up so it was literally like 3-4-5 mins just to get to 380 a little before 420 which is standard for Pizza Making time. Anyways I let it sit in at 380 for about 5 mins EXACT and took her out, (Total time in over around 9 mins or so) and then she's working great now.

And yes
I use ISO P to clean the Card, followed by a Bake Job, then AS5 Clean and EVenly as possible, Very little AS5 back on the Card. IF you look carefully in the images you can see it all done in the background as we move through the steps.

Thanks, leave questions for me if you have anymore.

Cool. I use an electric oven myself. I posted somewhere here, but here it is for me:

- preheat the oven to 150C
- place the board in for 4 minutes
- whilst the board still in, crank the temp up to 230C after the 4 minutes
- leave it alone for another 3 minutes
- open the oven door, turn the temp down to 150C
- leave it in for another 3 minutes
- take it out, let it (totally) cool
- turn off the oven!

I'll definitively look at the ISO P for pre-cleaning.

Played MW2 and this is the read out should I be worried? peaked at 97, and for anyone who says that these cards don't run hot or don't go above 80, they're WRONG, I don't see how that's even possible...

97 is borderline high for GPU, but possible. Use a cooler!

IMO anything over 85 is too high, and the main reason these cards have been failing

I agree with qhn, use a cooling pad, and clean out the fans often.

I think a new application of the termal compound once or twice a year is a good ideal as well.

Working with a third card as we speak, let's hope this one lasts longer.

Mine has never hit 90 degrees, usually around 80-83 degrees, still going strong here with over 2,5 years of usage.

The consumer side of the market can see Dell's build quality and support are slipping. They are gonna have to step up soon.

I believe they will with the latest models. But they do have some catching up to do.

I have 2 months warranty left on this laptop (3 years old) should I take 2 years extra warranty on this for € 179,99 ?

I think yes, since they don't make these anymore so I could get a new one when it fails ?

Thought's ?

Sure, if you don't plan any system upgrades for a while. Good warranty price.

cheers ...
