Getting my first Alienware. - Page 3

I was wondering, do you think the T9600 will bottleneck the 280's in the future? I'm pretty sure the T9600 is all I need right now, but I was wondering if it would drop FPS in physics heavy games like Crysis?

For Crysis, I'd say get the Qx9300 from HP (on backorder right now). The T9600 should be ok, if you OC it though.

I don't play games like, typically its WoW, AoC, WAR, etc... so i don't really have too much experience to guide you on this one... NWGuru could chime in...

Worst case scenario, sell me your T9600

Crysis wants the GPU power. 280s w/the correct settings will run Crysis just fine regardless of the proc.

No sir. I am expecting it around beginning of November sir.

I am frickin pissed and very inpatient... I think what bothers me more is the fact that NOBODY at Dell can give me a straight answer as to what the delay is.

Sigh... I am still stuck in the build stage. Grats on going to boxing though. You'll probably get it sooner than that...

I am pretty sure it was the Screens. Again, I have heard conflicting reports so not really 100% sure. Either way, its 1 week away or so before I get it, and even once I get it, i won't be able to use it right away.

I have a deal with Dell that once I get it, they will give me some free upgrades (hoping for graphics, processor, or harddrive/BR Rom).

I also have to get them to send me the Windows 7 PROFESSIONAL coupon, not the home premium.

AND THEN... I have to install my Raid 0 and reformat the entire thing with Windows 7 Prof... so I have more waiting ahead of me... but at the end of the day, its worth it.

FYI, my original EDD was Wednesday. Hope yours doesn't get pushed back.

ive read where people are complaining so much to get a new alienware M17x that they end up just getting a m1730 refurb.

but that's just something i read an may not be true.

i get my alienware M17x Monday 10-26-09 very excited. also this is my first alienware too

Dell has been inconsistant with the exchange

But in some cases they been replacing the M1730 with a crappy XPS16
