I have hit a wall in my overclocking so per advice of others im gonna take the dip into voltage modding my 260 for higher OCs now anyone else who decides to do this might end up causing terrible damage to there system and should do so at there own peril

How high did you get your clocks on your gpu?

top out at 667 gpu core before the drivers would shut you out of a game mem tops out at 1100 before you see artifacting and shader seems to not matter as i can go as high as 1650 causing little to no performance difference i assume because its following the 2:1 core to shader rule. Temps havnt hit higher than 74cs even while sitting on soft cloth surfaces.

Memory is no surprise, that should be the max with the 260. If you hit that you should be golden. 667 is low but that might be a limitation of the M15x. 670/1675 was a common setting I used on the M17x and didn't have any issues with it. So are you going to flash it then?

actually it was 700 core that caused the lockout but 667 is golden, nibitor cant seem to read the settings properly so i havnt had luck there and cant seem to find anyone who has

You're the first one I'm hearing doing it on the M15x. I tried it with the 280s on the M17x and it seem to work fine but the result was instability.

BTW, what are your temps when OC'ed? Someone with the Clevo M860CU is saying they can't go beyond 639|982|1651 which could be heat related. I definitely know these nVidia cards are capable of much more.

Alienware M15x

Core i7 720QM 1.6Ghz
3GB DDR3
Geforce 260 GTX 1GB
Vertex 120GB
1080p WUXGA screen

Feel free to ask for games to benchmark. Im not a fan of the older ones that are no longer important as very few to no games rely on such old tools like 3dmark2001 and 2003 etc

UPDATE 10-9-09 Check out the preview Now with Benchmarks from Crysis, HL2 LC
