From my google search it seems like they haven't sufficiently fixed it yet. You may just have to wait for them to come up with a better fix. Sorry! I have a different AV so I don't know enough about how NOD32 works to be more helpful. Normally it's an excellent product, from what I've heard, so hopefully ESET will fix the issue for you soon.

Just as an idea, you might want to try enabling test mode and disabling the other stuff they mention to see if that allows you to get the update they talked about, and then change the settings back.

ok so switching off/on the various stuff didnt work

anyhow time for some new (probably easy) questions:
1) when a motherboard is listed as "SLI classified - Crossfire Ready" what exactly does that mean. I understand crossfire = radeon and SLI = nvidia but does that mean its meant more for radeon than nvidia (or is the company called ATI?).

2) if an optical drive is listed as blue ray player and 12x dvd r dvd burner than means it can play blueray and burn AND play dvds?
what do those multipliers mean? 12x dvd r dvd burner vs say an 8x or 22x?

1. SLI, Crossfire

Simply saying the main board is capable of supporting ATI and nVidia in channeling multiple graphic cards into a single output, thus more graphic power.

2. Correct. 12x, 8x, 22x simply shows the capability of burning disk at X times over the burning base speed currently set at 150kbits/s for CD, 1.385Mbits/s for DVD and 6.74Mbits/s for Blu-Ray.

cheers ...

ok so...
eset is working again

however.. my computer has been slow lately (loading youtube videos and IE8 has been a little buggy)
so i decided to check with ipconfig /all on command prompt to check my ip address for port forwarding etc. anyhow..
the connection-specific dns suffix is odd
it isnt my network connection, in fact its my school's homepage.. err.. i DEFINETELY am not able to connect to my school from the distance I am at, and I am currently connected to my router wirelessly. any way to change the
connection-specific dns suffix to be correct? i have no idea what it said before but im sure it cant shouldnt be this. any ideas?
thanks

edit: this is under ethernet adapter local area connection 2
this is slightly odd since it does not metion local connection 1
also: my friend does not see "local area connection 2" even though he used ipconfig /all
slightly odd?

edit2: this is also under tunnel adapter local area connection* 6
again mentions my school..
even odder?

edit3: sorry but i noticed something again. port forwarding does not work. as in ill port forward the same method as i used to do but now the website i am using is telling me that the port is not forwarded correctly..

apparently eset decided to turn red again.. bleh oh well.
new question time:
how can i add more space to a hard drive partition.

my c: drive is getting full and my d: drive is alot more spacious. is there a way to take some of the unused space in the data drive and move it to the c: drive? thanks

If your C partition is at the beginning of your drive, then you can resize both your partitions so that C is larger and D is smaller. The easiest way I've found to resize partitions is to boot from a Linux Live CD for whatever distribution you want (I like Ubuntu, personally) and then use gparted or whatever other disk partition manager is included to resize and rearrange the partitions on your drive. Then you can simply restart, pop out the Live CD, and you're set!

Yes, you can do it with the Disk Management utility. Right click My Computer then select Manage. You should see Disk Management listed on the left under Storage. To resize a partition, just right-click on it.

However, the reason why I find it easier to do this with a Live CD is that Windows cannot alter the partition from which it is currently running (in other words, your C: drive), so you would be able to alter your D: partition but you wouldn't be able to alter your C: partition from Windows unless you booted from the Windows CD instead of the hard drive. And since, in my opinion, Linux Live CDs are easier to use than Windows CDs, that's what I prefer using.
