Will a monitor with 1600x900 resolution work with my Thinkpad T42?

This is direct extract from Lenovo site:

Display
14.1-inch, 16M colors, XGA (1024 × 768 resolution) TFT display
14.1-inch, 16M colors, SXGA+ (1400 × 1050 resolution) TFT display
15.0-inch, 16M colors, XGA (1024 × 768 resolution) TFT display
15.0-inch, 16M colors, SXGA+ (1400 × 1050) TFT display
15.0-inch, 16Mcolors, UXGA (1600 × 1200 ) TFT display

Notes:

* Support for a DVI monitor is through the ThinkPad Dock II option and is limited to a resolution of 1280 x 1024 at 60 Hz.
* All displays are measured diagonally.

So my guess is no. But looking at the 15" with UXGA screen, it does support internally 1600x1200

cheers ...

A guy used this on T42 for external running 1920x1200. It is free so I know qhn loves the idea. Have a look I have done nothing more than a basic over read to confirm maybe will work no guarantees, link.

Forget it if your driver does not have can't do. Try Power Strip but I hear if you mess up can be dangerous.
