Definitely not buying MW2. Infinity Ward is dead to me. No Dedicated servers and Kotaku got confirmation that multiplayer on the PC will be limited to 9v9.

They already lost me at the whole IWNet thing. I know what console gaming is like, and I want no part of it on my PC. Ever played a Halo 3 ranked multiplayer game recently? Lag exploiters aplenty. Peer 2 Peer multiplayer gaming SUCKS.

saw the 9v9 thing yesterday too. I'm sure as hell not buying this any time soon, as much as I want to play the single player.

How my views have changed. I like the fact that they are stripping control from the players away. WAY WAY to many hackers. PC mulitplayer has been dead to me since BF2 glitchers/hackers. After playing MP on console and adjusting I never want to go back. Its a level playing field (or as close as you can get for now) Everytime I have tried to play CoD4 MP on PC I run into nothing but severs full of people hacking. No thanks, I will take the host adavantage on Console and Not being able to pick my sever. I lonewolf 95% of the time anyways. And when I do want to play with friends we just make a party and the host picks the game type. Away we go. I would rather them spend money on making more maps then running dedicated severs. And yes I will pay the 10 bucks per map pack. I have played CoD4 for 2 years now. 60 for the game 10 for the map pack. I have more then gotten my money out of this game. Like I posted in the console CoD MW2 thread PC gaming is dead as we have known it.

Interesting you made this observation Darq. But it makes load of senses about the hacking part. My in-laws in Lackland plays nothing but on consoles at the moment.

This doesn't mean that you won't still find hackers in MW2 for PC.

I've changed my mind about buying MW2...

Wow, this thread took a quick turn from "Who's waiting" to "No way I'm buying!" Given the reasons presented, I am definitely going to stick to buying it on my Xbox.

I had no concept of the enormity of the project until I read about it in a newspaper...apparently, Blizzard put down 200 million in development, marketing, and licensing for the game and expects to sell 12 million copies by the end of December... at 60 bucks a copy, that's a cool 720 million, meaning if all goes well with next years sales it's a billion dollar project.

However, they may need to drop their sales expectations if they aren't going to have dedicated servers or allow matches bigger than 9v9...

I never said you were not going to run into hackers still. It helps and I don't game on MP on PC anymore there is no point in it. If I want to play games with my friends we all hop on our PS3's

That's normal with first release games before the patches start to appear. Doesn't affect me as much because I normally end up with 'Gold' editions with all the patches included.

Why?

I could say it's because it's cheaper to buy games that way, but that's only half of it. Mainly it's because I'm not much of a gamer and my missus won't let me spend as much time playing them now.

just my 2 cents this game is not bad at all even with the bad press.

I want to know where Darq keeps finding these servers full of h4x. I've played in a couple CS Servers with hackers, but none so far in playing CoD4. Maybe it's just because I don't play on hardcore (read n00b) servers.

I dont find any of them because I play on PS3 and dont worry about it.

But It was Headquaters and Domination that had the hackers when I was playing on PC.

That would explain things, I mainly stick to Team Deathmatch or FFA. Don't like S&D (because if I wanted to play CS, I'd just go play CS)

I've been anti-COD since COD 2 was released. Now it looks like MrEvil is joining me. Welcome, comrade.

Anyway to me SD in COD is alot different than in CS. CS stays with the few paths concept where offensive teams likely stick closely together. COD maps are oriented with many paths and windows where teams dont necessarily have to stick together. To the average gamer, COD would be more fun since you can be rogue more often. Blah blah blah....

I was referring more to the "Get killed in the first 30 seconds of a round and spend the next 20 minutes watching the last 2 players left alive try to out-camp each other." aspect of S&D.
