Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the recovery disk for a decent price? Had a total hard drive crash and don't want to give sony another $50 plus shipping for another set. Any help is appreciated.

How about the alternative? Borrowing a Windows install disk using your COA key for activation, then download the drivers/apps direct from Sony?

Tried with a version from a compaq and said those recovery disks do not support my computer or something like that. So guess Sony is gonna get another $50 from me.

You don't need to fork out the money for the recovery disk. Try first with an OS installation disk.

can I do this simply by copying the windows file from one computer to a dvd and then putting into the empty computer?

ok I got a OS disk but cant' get on the internet yet because I don't have any drivers loaded. Put vista home premium back on but nothing else is there. What do I need to do to get the wireless working again? Tried to use the cat 5 and still nothing.

Can you get these drivers and apps down somehow? There are XP and Vista options available.
