Be patient, M$ takes sometimes after the new comp arrives to put up the SP2 for the machine. It can take up to a month. In the mean times, pick up any updates that are being made available via WU.

cheers ...

No voltage option with the current version of the M17x BIOS. Maybe with a future release. The M15x has memory voltage options in the BIOS.

Yes. Sounds like you could probably push it further if you wanted to.

Wait, fsb at 1333? On the p8600, what would 1333 clock it at?

Because I am running at 1248:1248 with no problems. Ran occt reg and extreme test for 30 min one after the other and no problems.

Looks like I should roll the 1333:1333? Thoughts?

1333fsb (333Mhz x 4 (quad pumped)=1333). Is x9 multiplier 333x9=2997Mhz/3Ghz.

Well, since I have the Kingston hyperx ram at 1333mhz, and things are more stable at 1:1, running occt at 1333:1333 for 30 min, then I'll run the burn in 'linpack' test for 30 min. If everything is stable after those two test, looks like I'll be keeping it at 1333:1333

That's hot Moon. You are my inspiration for pushing my bad boy to 3Ghz since u and I have the same processors. I don't plan on taking the Windows 7 dive until they release the first service pack. That and I have to wait for my Dell gift cards to get my SSD.

7.9 is the top in Wondows 7 like 5.9 is in Vista...

I am not installing Windows 7 until at least the first service pack, even though I'll have my SSD by then. I just hate new OSs no matter how big the hype is.

Ok, OCCT test passed at 1333:1333 for 30 min. Highest temps were 65c

Running the OCCT "linpack" test for 30 min now also. Will update you all once its done. If it passes this test, I am golden at 3.0Ghz!!!! WOOT!

With my specs I found it easier to change the HTML than over tweak my notebook.

But congratz guys on your OC's, looks good.

Told you it would all make more sense once you got the system. Congrats!

If you want to attempt to break some records you will need additional cooling and the help of NST to push your FSB further.

haha thanks NWguru! I am not looking to break any records. It just feels good to have such a bad ass machine.

With the stress that I put this bad boy through at 3Ghz and NO problems or errors, looks like I got a solid built machine which will hopefully last me for the next 3 years!
