Getting an XPS....o and i have questions

Hey all im gettin my Dell XPS around this week and im hopin its gonna be working and all. For all u experts out there...(and others) wut did u all do to make sure ur dell or other laptops up and working? Tell me everything i need to know cause i dont want to be complaining to Dell bout this and that. and another thing.... how long does battery life for a XPS last?

On primary batter mine lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes. On the 16 cell about an hour and a half. I'd wipe the drive, install fresh xp without all the stupid software that comes with the purchase. Then update all drivers, including the video card bios. Finally, I'd run 3dmark03 a few times to make sure there are no lockups. Oh, one last thing, check for dead pixels. To do this, in PS make solids of Red, White, Blue, Green, and Black the same size as your max screen res. view each at 100% with menus and palettes off.

I was able to play HALO with all effects on for about 45 min on my i9100

my 9100 will surf the web for about 2 hours using wireless. about 1:35 in counterstrike. UI have teh 12 cell battery and a 3.0 p4
