Thank you NWguru, your overclock tutorial works for me with FSB 1280 and coef X10 (FSB 1300 faile, blue screan). 3d mark06 can not go to the end of test.I am under windows 7 64.Are you any
solution?

Which doesn't complete 3DMark06 the 1280 or 1300? Can you tell me exactly which test (as in which scene) it is failing on and how it fails (BSOD, freeze, driver crash, etc).

Also check your temps when testing. Make sure something isn't wrong there.

It was at 1280 with 3DMARK cpu test 1 or 2-It's failed and program crash and return to windows and my office. At 1300 i have got blue screan directly when windows loading.

EDIT : After test my temps was 52° max, i d'ont think it was the problem

I'm doing a respawn with my original hard drives right now and I will test again. when I was testing before I had minimal apps loaded because I was just testing the CPU OC. I'll see if it crashes on me.

One word of advice if you haven't already, reapply the thermal paste on your processor and 9400M. Plus check the state of the heatsink. My last heatsink was horrible. I took a picture of it and it's earlier in this thread. I had to sand it down to fix it.

No i have not reapply the thermal paste and heatsink and i a little afraid to do that but if i have to, i do...

Dell really uses crappy thermal material. It's more like plastic than anything else. I use OCZ freeze and seems to drop my temps by at least 5C. It is a step to do to get the most out of the system so it's up to you on how far you want to take it.

Let me list what is not stock with my system.

1. I'm using the Kingston HyperX 1333 CAS7 memory.
2. I'm using the Windows Bluetooth software instead of what Dell provides. My mouse seems to only work with the Windows software.
3. I have reapplied thermal paste to my CPU and 9400M. I haven't even touched my ATI cards yet.
4. I made the registry change as described in the original post and set my FSB and memory to 1280.
5. Plus my system is sitting on top of a Cryo cooler.

I attached the results of 3DMark06. The proc is the original proc that came with the system.

Here's the results @1300

With some OS tweaks it will hit 17.5-17.7

OK Major, since I have 2 systems here I was able to do more testing and I was able to duplicate the issue. The Kingston memory in combination with my Cryo cooler is keeping it stable.

@major81 - you can use the attach function within the post to upload the pics direct into it. An alternative to linking to the pics.

cheers ...
