Hey, you have G2 160GB drive, right?
Did you upgrade the firmware that's released today?

LINK
The main thing it does is it enables Windows 7 TRIM support.

Just tried it and it didn't work. It doesn't find the SSD. I tried putting the controller in different compatibility modes but it didn't work. I'm not going to try it in my Thinkpad because it's too old. I have a M17 coming in soon and I will try doing it with that machine.

Any success on your side?

Same happpened to me.
That's why I was asking if you managed to upgrade with M17x.
Guys from Intel support forum suggested that I do it on a desktop with Intel MB
But I'd have to wait until christmas for that.

You don't have access to any other system? What about a friends?
All of my friends here only have laptops.
I'm sure they won't open up their system just so I can upgrade my SSD.
My roommate has those don't-know-how-to-open macbook.
So, I'm hopeless.
I'm going home on Christmas and I can upgrade it on my desktop.

I saw your other post. Congrats on fixing it but you might want to post the info here so more people can see it. TIA!

Alright, yeah, for those with M17x and X25-M G2 drive.
If you do the upgrade process from CD, it won't detect your SSD.
You have to do it via flash drive.
The instructions are found here.

Didn't work for me. What mode did you put your controller in?

That's what we've been talking about.

Mine evidently worked. I got a message that the upgrade was unsuccessful so I pulled it and put it in my Dell laptop. When that detected the SSD it said it was already up to date and showed the new firmware. I guess everything is OK now.

Received an Intel T9900 in the mail today. I plan on doing some benchmarks with it over the weekend. I'm hoping since the proc requires less power that I can OC it to 3.7Ghz+
