Asus Z63a (W3A) LCD backlight changing

Does anyone have any experience changing the z63a or W3a lcd? The z63a came out in 2005. I bought it when it first came out and have been using it constantly ever since. I figured roughly what tube I want to get but I want to change the inverter too. Any suggestions? Is there any panel I can compare this too?

I'm doing this because I'm getting pinkish hues and my screen takes longer to light up. So I figure I change both the inverter and the tube at once and give the screen a couple more years of life.

Oh and could I just replace this monitor with an Asus X83V LED LCD screen? Its 14.1" just like my screen and has the same resolution. Is it possible?

nvm its too pricey.

So you just want to replace the backlights and the inverter only, and not the whole screen? Might be cheaper and better and easier with the whole LCD replacement plus the inverter, considering how old the screen is.

Backlight replacement involves some soldering with delicate fluorescent tube. Not hard, but can be tricky.

i dont mind the soldering. thing is a new lcd cost anywhere for 300 to 400 dollars. I'd rather get a netbook for that price. For 10 bucks i can just change the bulb which seems to be the root of the problem anyway.

Thank for the advice. I'm probably going to dissemble the lcd this weekend and figure out what size i need.

Good lucks. eBay offers some good backlights with instruction :-)
