Hey guys,
I bought an ASUS F3JP 2 years ago and this past summer it started to act funny - if I moved the laptop it would stop being powered so I would have to wiggle the a/c adapter and then stay still. Also, the battery is pretty much dead (held enough charge to stay on for about 3-5min).
I replaced the adapter and the laptop worked fine for some reason for about 1-1.5 months but about 2 weeks ago the same thing happened where I would have to wiggle the a/c adapter or move the laptop to power it.
So..I'm not sure if actual hardware is messed up or if it's the adapter or the a/c adapter port on my laptop and was looking for some advice. I have access to a computer engineering lab at school so I could test stuff out..
I'm pretty sure the adapter works but I will double check. So, I was wondering if there is anyway I can find out what is wrong with it. One idea I had was to emulate a battery so I'm trying to figure out how the battery pins work. If the computer turns on through the battery outlet then I know its the jack right?http://www.batteryuniversity.com/parttwo-47.htm
Anyways..this is kinda annoying so I was wondering if you guys had any better ideas, thanks!
