Just do it man! You know you deserve it. You work so hard to provide for you and your lady, its nice to treat yourself to something like this. Think about it this way, you figure you'll keep that computer for the next 3 years:

Can you afford $3 a day? Because for $3 a day, a new M17X can be YOURS!

This may be a dumb question, but I recently purchased an m17x, how can I find out what processor's the motherboard can handle? Is there a list somewhere, or will any core2 duo, or quad core work? How about i7 is it a different chipset? (I switch from hardware supprt to programmer about 4 years ago, A LOT changes in 4 years!!!)

Thanks

I would cheat in this case and take a look at the configuration offer by AW. It should tell you off the bag what's the current highest CPU you can install.

Thread Starter
Any Montevina based processor would work with the QX9300 being the highest quad core and the x9100 being the highest dual core.

i7 is not compatible. System board architecture is not even the same.
