NVIDIA Quadro NVS 510M???

NVIDIA Quadro NVS 510M is this card the same as Go 7900 GTX -???which 1 is better

im asking this cos i send my lapy last time when my vid card went bad and i did have Nvidia 512MB 7900 GTX and now i see after the fix it i have NVIDIA Quadro NVS 510M wth why they put difernt card in it why is that or did they give me cheep card
insted ??

The NVS 510M is very much based on the 7900GTX, so I would say having the same performance.

According to Wikipedia it is, for what that's worth. I've never heard of the Quadro NVS 510M before now. Nvidia briefly mentions it on their site but doesn't give a lot of details.

im asking coz i did have nvidia 7900gtx befor it went bad after i got my loptop from fixing it sey i have Quadro NVS 510M jost dont get it why is that did they give me cheeper card or what ?

most likely it's the same physical card with a different video BIOS.

I looked and could not find much. What I was looking for. But if it is the 510 it is hardware capable beyond the 7900. It can be driver enabled to game like the 7900. The 7900 cannot be softmodded to be a Quadro. So if it is the 7900 pro card I would think a good thing.

It's not a pro card. NVS is the business lineup. It would have to be FX to be pro.

the point is that it has all the power of the 7900 GTX, so it should be able to play games the same.

ok i found the problem i do have 7900 GTX, but when i did drivers up date it made it to NVIDIA Quadro NVS 510M

179.48 had the issue with mixing the NVS510M and the 7900GTX. There is a mentioning of a patch for 186.03 at nVidia forum to correctly identify the 7900GTX. Give it a search over there and see.
