Translastion:
"Among the many new products, Alienware presented inter alia things the dektop Aurora and Area-51, was thus introduced the little brothers of Area-51 M17x: Area-51 M15x. As much to immediately say it to you, after 6 years of good and faithful services, my APN did not find better moment to return the heart… Useless to present to you Area-51 M15x (cf this news), you know all about it. In addition to the presentation of this first machine integrating the processors Intel Clarksfield (cf this article), the occasion was to propose to us to have some extra informations on this series of Area-51 M15x and Area-51 M17x. Let us start with Area-51 M15x. The first orders are not delivered yet because at Alienware, the first machines leaving the production line receive series of tests additional in order to make sure that no wheel is seized up in the chain. Once these series of tests additional carried out and validated, the mass production can finally start and the first delivered customers being. Soon, the option of a graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 should make its appearance in the configurator as it is now the case for Area-51 M17x (cf this news). Naturally, not of place for Crossfire since Area-51 M15x embarks only one and single graphics card. The “furtive” mode, which had the happiness of the players also seeking mobility with the old version of Area-51 m15x, is not any more. Indeed, the Calpella platform does not allow it since the chipset does not embark an IGP. For stage with that, Alienware thus proposes in option a battery of 9 cells. Concerning now Area-51 M17x, this last can recently embark Crossfire of graphics cards ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4870 (cf this news). I wanted to know how Alienware had succeeded in making function Crossfire on a platform with a chipset nVIDIA MCP79. The representative of Dell/Alienware could not answer us since not having the brief replies in its possession but will communicate them soon to us. As soon as we know some more, we will naturally keep you. Always about this Area-51 M17x, a refresh of this platform is envisaged in order to integrate, you suspect it, a platform Intel Calpella with its processors Intel Clarksfield. No the exact date for the moment, just that should arrive in the current of first half of the year of the next year. To finish, Dell starting to be established in the big business, I asked whether we will find one day or the other of the Alienware products in stores or if Alienware considers the installation of a kind D' Alienware Store as it was made in New York (cf this news): “Nothing is envisaged in this direction for the moment but which knows… “ "

Nope, that's the bad things about laptops. As soon as you get it, it's already outdated

You guys, the Dell.com site is acting wierd. They removed the ATI 4870's, added a i7 sticker on the top right, and I made a build like mine and it ran up to $4,500!

Edit: Now it's back to normal.

Very interesting... VERY interesting... I was debating on whether to sell my replacement on ebay since its new and not a refurb and buy a new one off Dell with the specs I would chose, ie: q9000, dual 280s, etc. etc. but at the rate of Dell's laptop failures, I might as well just wait till this one takes a crap and get it replaced...
