P-171XL FX audio issues in Windows 7

I looks like everything is fine after installation and sound is working fine but when system goes into sleep and wakes up sound is gone. To restore sound restart is required.

I looked for some drivers that I could use with win 7 but I got nothing. Does anyone of you know exactly what kind of chipset is used for IDT/Sigma sound card ??

Windows7 driver shows up as HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO DRIVER but when looked up in properties it says Realtek

plz help

Try looking at the device properties and make sure that nothing is being turned off to save power. W7 does have some issue with sleep on certain devices and notebook models.

Have you also tried to re-install the Vista driver for your audio device?

cheers ...

gateway website doesnt even have audio drivers listed for Vista - They only one they show is for Win XP

I dont see anything related to sound being turn off when in sleep mode.

i know the IDT audio requires a service to run. Check to make sure you haven't disabled any startup entries or services.

Sweet - now it seems to be working just fine. I will test it out with Hibernation too and get back to you guys.

THANK YOU! I was just about to post about that exact problem on my 6831FX. I spent all morning looking for an updated driver. That one installed and fixed it just fine How the Hell did you find that, I've been Googling all day lol.

lol. It could also be because you were looking for a different model number though.
