Hey guys,

New here. I'm getting a SXPS 1340 as my replacement for a dead XPS m1330. It has been over 4.5 weeks and my system has not shipped yet, or even gotten close to shipping. I'm on my 3rd order placed by a supervisor(first two cancelled after no status change).

Any luck with your system exchange? How long has it been "IN PRODUCTION"? Do you have an estimated ship date?

All I get from Dell is the BS, Its some unexpected delay, so we will make a new order and expedite it for you. And then they will give an estimate of two more weeks from the date of the NEW order...

Anyone else having similar issues?

Thanks in advance.

Same things happing to me. The best thing to do is just wait patiently.

ive noticed a sudden surge of new users posting about replacing systems, almost every dell thread in this is about system replacement or exchange. This is getting a bit out of hand imo.

but a reply to you is that you just have to be patient.

It has always been like this. Dell cannot make a reliable laptop.

Man...I should get rid of the Dell once I get it. How long did it take in total to actually get the replacement system for you guys?

I'm happy with the spec they gave me(they upgrade me to the 210m as well), but its taking forever to just SHIP.

You are getting a new system which they are building from scratch so if you go try the dell site and try to build a studio xps 13 with a 210m card the site says: Preliminary Ship Date: 10/29/2009, so you can expect waiting there for system to be shipped out

Yea have been doing that. It was actually ordered in the first week of October, then cancelled last week and exact configuration was reordered immediately. They keep giving me a BS excuse like the the power adaptor ac cord is on "backlog".

Mine's been "In Production" since 10/12... prelim ship date if I build one is 11/10. Damn.

I am thinking there is a delay for Windows 7, My replacement still hasn't shipped ordered on the 6th. They are making sure people don't receive them early before the official release date.

Mine is manifested for Vista 64. I think my delay is because of the i7 proc, which came out on 9/23. Either that, or it's the Radeon 4650.

are you.guys in the build stage or pre-production?

My m17x was ordered on 10/6. The delay is most likley Windows 7. I wouldn't worry about this too much. Just be patient and talk to a rep about expediting your order.

@ Orijin: I agree, but at the same time, you have to consider that people will post their problems and as I have said before, for every 10 people with computer problems, there are 1000 happy clams enjoying their machines.

Mine was ordered the 2nd. It's stuck in the Build stage.

I have found that it goes from Build to Ship very quickly

the last few years Dells on line order tracking has nit been very accurate.

I do not know of "replacements" are or can be put on a priority order or if it all just goes into the build queue and when its done its done.

Mine was shipped yesterday. Got my purolator track today.

They're sending me a xps1640 for my faulty xps M1530

Its been about 2.5 weeks since I was approved by dell for a system exchange. and about a month since the problem/in house tech visits started to try and fix the issue.

Systems for sale on the Dell website just kicked over to Windows 7 today. Maybe that will open up the bottleneck. I don't know what that means for my system, which is currently manifested with Vista Premium 64, but we'll see. Would be nice if it ended up with 7 on it.

got lucky on my replacement M17x took 7 days.

good luck guys.

System exchange orders seem to be progressing. My new order just went into "IN Production". Notebookreview forums users posted their systems went from "BUILD" stage to "BOXING" stage today. Lets hope this is true.
