dv2z being discontinued?

Please say it ain't so! While other HP models are getting sold with Windows 7, HP only has two dv2z models pre configured with Vista! I wanted one of these decked out with Win 7!

As far as W7 concerns, may be you can contact HP for an upgrade arrangement? As with many brands/net-books model class, the ultra portables do not always come with W7 offer.

it is NOT on the HP website with windows 7 preinstalled. That means end of the road.

Not necessarily, HP can always tweak the model number if the series can hold its own ground in the market. The trick is to sell new units with W7 and not having to support old models.
