Fujitsu n6110

So i got one of these laptops a couple of days ago from a friend and turns out the wifi card is disabled in the bios, the bios is password protected...

I have looked into a few passwords they could be from my friend and he cannot remember. Is there anything i can do besides pay the 150$ or something by sending it to fujitsu?
I also cannot get my media keys to work, drivers are installed and everything, i think it is another bios-disabled part of the laptop...

What about removing the CMOS battery? Open up it looks like a watch battery. I think that might remove all the saved info thereby removing the BIOS password. No guarantees.

i tried that for about thirty mins. i also looked for jumpers for clearing cmos but no luck either way.

:-( Guess you are stuck with sending it back to Fujitsu. I would recommend that you just get a WIFI adapter (much much cheaper) and not to worry about it.

You did remove CMOS batt also battery and pressed the power button to discharge? I know it does not always work. Try and if it does not I will see if I can find out more.

Problem is defeating security features never easy. And with good reason.

i did not remove it and press the power button ill do that when i get home though, should i hold the power button?

The cmos battery removal did not work even with the power button pressing/holding, BUT i did manage to get the password reset without spending $155!!! i am in the bios now, there is no cmos jumper and even if there was resetting the cmos will do nothing for the password... Thanks for the help guys!
