Did you download the latest drivers from Dell?

My copy of Windows 7 came yesterday and I installed it. The touch strip with all the media controls does not work.

The only thing I heard was an issue was command center but that issue was resolved with the latest release. All should be working right now.

Still having problems. Only thing that works is the lighting. If I try the fusion or touch it locks up.

I installed the Vista Chipset drivers and everything works with Win 7 here

There seem to be so many problems with Windows 7 and the M17x. I think it will be in my best interest to just wait it out. Vista Business 64 as it stands, is a great operating system.

I think the cons and issues of upgrading to Windows 7 are greater than the pros/benefits. Perhaps a service pack or a few months should make Windows 7 a SOLID choice, but until then I plan on sticking with what works.

Lucky guy, all i keep reading is people having to do fixes, download drivers for Vista instead of Win 7, just a big mess imo. If it works for you, thats awesome, I am just very particular and OCD to an extent with Win 7 drivers only, and not needing to do 'fixes' for things to work.

I'm up and running Win 7 now. I used command center for the dell m17x for my area-51 m17x.

The only drivers you need for win 7 are the chipset drivers and the GPU drivers

everything else installed correctly with Win 7
