Hi, I have a a vaio nw series with a blu-ray player and i want to upgrade a couple of things on my computer. I would like to upgrade the memory on my laptop to 8Gb and the processor to a t9900. On the sony website it says the laptop can max at 2.2ghz and 4gb but the chipset in the laptop can support the processor i want and the 8gb.

Also has anyone put a ssd in their sony laptop. Is it worth the cost.

If you have the option to use or upgrade to a SSD drive and the extra money then I think it's worth it. I have a 80GB SSD and although it lacks the crazy amount of GB's a SATA would have... the SSD is really so much faster with everything. My loading time for anything is basically cut down to nothing. As far as 8GB's, I would just use 2 2GB's and not mess with it or hunting down 4GB laptop memory. Have a good one.

Give me your complete model info. What chipset? PM45?

The SSD will give the best performance boost for most things overall. 8GB's does seem like overkill for most people. And 8GB's is very expensive.
