Hi

an user has Acer Aspire 5920 notebook with OS Win XP Professional SP2. (He has changed windows vista preinstalled to install Windows XP Prof. SP2.)

Now, it not detects a basic optical mouse USB (logitech). But he can connect a mobile via USB.

I think is problem USB 2.0...?

But I dont know what he must install (without to install all SP3)

Already I have searched drivers on Acer but I have not found any driver usb for windows xp. And the mouse has not drivers.

Any help?

Thanks in advance.

then probably the Logi mouse is not compatible with the comp, or simply bad? Try another Logi mouse (same model) and see?

Hi

I have tried other mouses and the problem persists. All these mouses runs ok on other computers (old and new comptuers).

This mouse is compatible with this notebook.

One thing:

this problem ocurres after to repair Windows XP SP 2 usind the CD (option repair).

All components runs fine, except this.

I have seen that appears yellow icons as "unknown" in Device Manager, Then I am tried to reinstall them, but it displays error.

this driver is the same that this? :

Because, today I have tried this and nothing....the problem persists...

Your link point to a 5020 Acer, whereas your OP mentions model 5920. The error you had pertains to an Intel Chipset issue. What is correct?

sorry, but I have mistaked with this link (is wrong)...I think the user has the correct drivers.

But the problem with USB mouse can be origined for a chipset driver? Because before to install any driver, the mouse runs fine....

I only recommended the driver, seeing the error message. Logitech mouses have the tendency not working correctly if the drivers hit a road block somewhere in your system.

If you said that before driver installation - I take it that it was the mouse driver - you have no issue, then you can try removing it, clear out all the files that belong to the mouse, and just use it as such.
