okay i decided to RMA back the laptop for refund...theyre pretty slick if you asked me..hmm story goes like I said about keyboard curved up I asked them i will pay shipping if they could possibly send the space bar for replacement (as you know they stated 3 years parts warranty) right now they have never even reply me, so I brought the case to my reseller and he'd been putting efforts in contacting them, here's what he'd replied

they are telling me that the new keyboard problems may be a result of the keyboard be messed with after it left the ChemUSA facilityu. Three workers at ChemUSA have told me they inspected the notebook before it was shipped to you to make sure it was in perfect condition, the keyboard included.

So, it is probably best we just have the system returned to ChemUSA and we refund your money. I do not like to get caught in the middle of a finger pointing match.

I will work on getting the RMA number for you. Please let me know your thoughts.

let me just remind you space bar was always issue I believed CHU had brought up...if they'd inspected why would backlight still exist on me and KLAS??? BS

how come u guys r having all these probs

the only flaw i found so far was that my touchpad left button was scratched (resellers fault)

and they said they'd send me a ship label so they can swap it out

they couldnt send me a new key or somethin coz it was attached to the pad itself and thats attahed on the motherboard

I find something quite awkward, in your description of your notebook, you state that it had a 128mb radeon 9700, yet in the 3dmark03 site that you added, it states that u have a 9600 card?

im using unofficial approved drivers from omega

and the latest version doesnt recognize the 9700

so it falls under the 9600 name

Your pictures were nice but it would help if you turned your flash off. The monitors produce their own light, the flash isn't going to make the picture from the monitor any better.

i have one of those point and shoot cameras

it has auto adjusting properties and when i dont use aflash it isnt focused at all
post #71 of 96
Well, the other thing about using flash is that it reduces the contrast of the CRT image while increasing the contrast of the LCD image. If you're trying to compare them in pictures you have to disable the flash, which you can do with most point-and-shoot style cameras.

Dudes, I'm totally returning mine. I don't know if it's normal or if mine is especially bad, but I can't deal with the viewing angle. If I adjust the screen one way (tilting it down) all the colors at the top of the screen invert. if i tilt it the other way, the blacks and dark colors are completely washed out. If i keep it in the middle, I get inverted colors at the top, washed out colors at the bottom. this display sucks. I'm no fan of widescreen, but I think that's what I'm gonna go for instead. Oh, plus the cd drive started making this terrible racket and most of the keys on the right side of the keyboard either don't function or are mapped to the wrong characters (ex. hitting 'p' prints '-'). It didn't start out that way, so I'm re-formatting and re-installing xp to see if it was my fault.
Haha! in xp setup, i got to the part where it says "to delete this partition, press L", and my L key doesn't work.

well looks like rince is the only who has perfect one. I will be looking into the new Acer 3200, Adam@PCtorque said they will have it in a week and the price will be right at 2k

actually the E,R,T area of mykeyboard misses keystrokes sometimes

i got to actually sit upright and press down on the keys instead of just tapping on them (which i usually do when im typing fast)

my old mitac 8335 did that too

left side default @ 392/202

right side overclock @ 460/230
damn i'm glad i ordered mine with the overclock and velocity's going to cover it. sure, it doesn't make me a hardc0r l33t haXX0r, but those scores are NICE.
plus i don't trust myself. i'd break something if i personally tried to OC.
