powerbiosserver, MSE, and windows 7

why, in my sager np8662, does whenever i shut my computer down, powerbiosserver (the program that controls the three hot keys near the power switch) record a critical stop error... or is there something more than just that I should be worrying about that is causing this behavior.

Also, I have noticed that MSE is causing windows explorer crashes in windows 7 and when I had vista, vista as well. Is anyone else getting this?

Any help would be appreciated

MSE as in Microsoft Security Essentials? If so I have been testing it for the past few weeks with no issue under XP and Vista.

I am running MSE straightforward - Windows Firewall, Defenders (Vista), SpywareBlaster and "it" (MSE). It seems better than my previous configuration with Avast in play.

Any particular situation where explorer crashes? Or just out of the blue.

at random, usually it dies when i right click, but it works fine when i uninstall the hotkey program. MSE has been very well behaved as of late. Perhaps it's the hotkey program doing something......
