New Windows 7 Driver for 5530 WWAN Card on E6400

Anyone got the new 64 bit Windows 7 driver (not the Vista driver) for 5530 WWAN card on E6400 working?

The driver installed fine on my E6400 (running 64 bit Windows 7), but Wireless Manager (downloaded from Sony Ericsson website) stopped working saying it can't find any wireless device (probably because it can't recognize the new driver).

Then I went to get Control Point Connection Manager and noticed that there's none for Windows 7. So how do you use the WWAN card without a client?

TIA.

Are you sure that the Windows XP driver won't work? I had to install a couple of Windows XP drivers on my Windows 7 laptop to get some things working...

The 64 bit Vista driver "works" in Windows 7 and I was using that before last week. But the driver set is incomplete, I always get unknown smart card in device manager and every now and then there's a pop up message saying something along the line of "device installation unsuccessful".

After installing the Windows 7 driver, all the errors are gone, that suggests the installation was successful and the driver works. However, I didn't try the WWAN card until last Sunday, that was when I discovered SE Wireless Manager is not compatible with the new Windows 7 driver.

Turns out you can use the WWAN card like a dial-up modem, so it doesn't require any 3rd party clients (Dell ControlPoint Connection Manager nor Sony Ericsson Wireless Manager).

No problem. The only "inconvenience" now is that Windows Dial-up networking doesn't have usage tracking, I'm on a basic pre-paid data plan, so it would be nice to know the last re-charge date and total data usage. But that's not a major problem as I can always login to the service provider's site to check.

Btw, Windows 7 driver is totally new, not an update from Vista driver, so you need to uninstall the Vista driver to avoid conflict.
