HP 530 LCD Display Shifted to Right!!!

Dear All,

Hello! I am extremely disappointed these days bcoz of the way things are turning out for my HP 530 Laptop. And all these issues are happening merely bcoz of the fraud people in Mumbai, India whom I had given my laptop to for either LCD Screen replacement or By paying the money and changing the LCD screen. The computer market of Mumbai is highly equipped with people of dishonesty and fraud minded attitude and even if one pays money to them, they are still bound to cheat you! All are simply crooks and keep thinking of ways to cheat innocent and genuine people like me. The entire computer market in Mumbai city are filled with Frauds...thereby not leaving back a single person or an organization to trust on.

My Laptops Issue...
This morning, when I turned ON my laptop, I see the entire display of my Laptop being shifted from Right to Left by 10% thereby leaving black area at the right hand corner. Last week, when I turned on my laptop for about few mins, the screen was perfect positioned fine. However, due to the internal fan not rotating, I had to shut down my laptop with 5-7 mins. I had also Disassembled and Reassembled the entire laptop 2 weeks back to check the Fan area if theres any dust and blew Vacuum Blower to remove any dust in the Fan area if any. Also, I could see the Fans connector being properly connected to Motherboard. After Re-assembling everything, I turned on my Laptop and I could still see the Display being positioned perfectly fine! But, the Fan still wasnt rotating.

Also, when I hooked up an external monitor to my Laptop VGA connection, the display positions perfectly fine on an external monitor! But still, the display remains shifted to Right on the LCD screen of my HP 530 Laptop. This I believe is a physical shift taken place as at BIOS mode also, the Display is shown shifted to right.

For your all reference, I am attaching all possible screenshots taken from different angles with my Nokia Cell Phone. Could you kindly take a look at it please?

Kindly let me know of the solution please...

Regards,
Apoorva.

I would try first reinstalling the graphic and check on the resolution output.

Hi There!

Well, the issue isn't related to Graphics Drivers but is related to "Physical" wherein the LCD Display of this laptop has been physically shifted from Right to Left.

And this issue happens right from the time I Turn ON this laptop therefore, this screen shifting issue has happened right from Cold Boot.

Even while in BIOS Settings, the display still shows displayed to left from right.

I had visited PC Pitstop from my HP 530 Laptop after getting the Internal LCD screen replacement done and this is what it has to report about my LCD Screen:

Monitor Model: CMO 21533
Monitor Manufacture Date: March 2006

Kindly assist....

LCD controller chip ?

Dear All,

Would also like to ask if it is possible that LCD controller chip within this HP 530 Laptop could have damaged? And in such case, though the LCD Screen display looks fine except for the shifting issue, do I need to replace the entire LCD Screen in this HP 530 Laptop?

And could this LCD controller chip get damaged b'coz of the heating issue as I mentioned earlier that the internal Fan wasn't working however, I just use to keep my Laptop Turned ON for about 5-7 mins and Shutdown immediately the moment the temp of CPU reaches 90 degree.

Kindly assist.....

Well it works on with the external monitor, so I still think that the LCD itself might be bad. You can try to check the cables again.

Hey Everybody!

One quick question over here! Is it possible that if a wrong AC Power Adaptor gets connected to my HP 530 Laptop and if the Laptop is being Turned ON, it can immediately blow off any component inside my laptop resulting into my LCD Display getting "Shifted from to Left from Right?

B'coz once he connected his AC Power Adaptor, I immediately told him that I have bought my Original HP AC Power Adaptor along which he should be using therefore, he disconnected his AC Power Adaptor from my laptop and then connected the one I bought to the laptop.

Can using wrong AC Power Adaptor affect the LCD Controller Chip of my HP 530 Laptop?

Or has this Display Shift issue occurred b'coz of heating or b’coz I disassembled the laptop myself.

I followed the instructions on this page to disassemble my HP 530 Laptop:

http://www.insidemylaptop.com/disass...ove-top-cover/

which was explained quiet professionally with all the screenshots step by step.

But I strongly believe that more importantly, this LCD Display got shifted to Left from Right the moment that wrong AC Power Adaptor got connected by that person into my HP 530 Laptop to whom I took this Laptop 3 days back for checking the Fan issue and he is into the business of repairing Laptops in Mumbai.

This is an extreme important question to which I need an answer please....

It will be very hard to pin point the issue with the LCD shifting to the wrong ac adapter. I never experienced it myself, so I can't tell you.

LCD Video cable Unplugged and Re-plugged - Still the same issue.

Hi There!

Not sure if LCD itself is bad. However, I again Dis-assembled the laptop and checked out the LCD Video cables which according to me was connected perfectly fine to the motherboard. But for my satifaction, I unplugged and replugged the Video cable from the Motherboard. These are the snaps taken if you could kindly visit and take a look at it please:

Video Cable 1

Video Cable 2

Video Cable Full View

There's no sign of loose or broken video cable whatsoever, yet after Re-assembling everything back and when I Turn ON my laptop, I still see the LCD display being shifted from Right to Left.

Therefore, could it be possible that connecting an AC Power Adaptor other than the original one could have cause this issue to arise?

What about the inverter itself? Do you think that you can swap it out for a test?

Again, I have not experienced with a bad/wrong adapter that would cause this symptom so it is very hard for me to say yay or nay.

I'd almost bet money that it's a problem with the lcd display itself. Video issues aren't my forte, but isn't the external video and lcd screen both operating beneath the same lcd controller underneath the graphics chip?

I don't think that it has to do with the cables themselves.  My friend is having a similar issue on her HP laptop.  I can restart the laptop and then hit ESC to access the boot up menu and if I run a few of the tests and then boot the computer the screen goes back to normal.  But then sometimes when she opens the laptop back up the display is shifted just how yours is pictured to the left.  When I tried to update the drivers for the display card it says that they are up to date.  Since I'm not very experienced with display issues I didn't want to mess with it further without getting more information on it.  So if you've found a solution please share!  :)  Thanks!
