FastAccess Video Capture...

I disabled the Alien Sense log in deal with the whole facial recognition thing, and once I did this, I notice that "facap, Fast Access Video Capture" is disabled in my device manager...

I am 'guessing' that these two are connected but not reall sure. It shows up in my Imaging Devices in the Device Manager. Can someone shed some light on this?

it doesn't effect performance, so I keep it off, I just noticed it disables itself when you disable Alien Sense...

Definitely related. What you're seeing in the Device manager is AlienSense's "virtual camera" technology. It's the "fake" camera that AlienSense creates when it's running so that other video applications can use of video at the same time. When you disabled AlienSense the "FaCap" camera was also disabled because it's not needed....other video apps can now attach directly to the "real" camera driver. (It's a limitation of Windows itself that only one application at a time can attach to a given camera driver).

Any particular reason that you disabled AlienSense? Perhaps I can help out in that respect as well.

Poor lighting in the room that I sit in while I am on my comp, so it never recognizes my face...

True that AlienSense uses a camera and therefore requires at least minimal lighting (exactly how much of course depends on the camera).

Do you see the blue "Alien head" outline around your face on the login screen when you look at the camera? If you do, then you actually have sufficient lighting. Just be sure that you continue to look at the monitor/camera while logging in (instead of down at your hands, just as an example) and it should start to recognize you in short order.

If the blue "Alien Head" outline is not there then you are correct about the insufficient lighting.

no blue outline. I used a flash light to "better" the lighting then saw it but I don't want to have to do that all the time. Plus, I just don't need that added security... its just my wife and I at home hehe

Definitely connected. the "FaCap" camera is the "virtual" camera created by AlienSense so that other video applications can continue to use video at the same time that AlienSense is attached to the actual, or "integrated" camera.

The virtual camera will be disabled as long as AlienSense is simply because it's not needed....if AlienSense is not using the integrated camera then other video apps can attach to it directly.

The virtual camera will automatically re-enable itself when you re-enable AlienSense.

AlienSense is built right into the Alienware Command Center. That said, some versions of the Command Center have it and some do not. If you don't have it, it's likely that you have a version without it. Sadly, I don't have detailed knowledge of which specific version include it. For that you'd have to ask Alienware.
