I found a bunch of vids on youtube about baking... but most of them were desktop cards.

is there any difference in temps or times for baking a mobile card?

Most of the baking posts here recommend 365F (around) for 10 minutes. Search them, plenty in this section.

cheers ...

Yep, found a bunch.

Thanks,

Baking mine tonight... Maybe I'll end up with two perfectly good systems. My wife's laptop is an old dell latitude D600... so maybe she'll get an upgrade out of the deal??

Trying to stay positive on the whole situation....

Baked my Nvidia 7600 mobile card!!!!!

SUCCESS!!!!!

Thanks ghn for the input!

I found a vid on youtube that did a before and after of the video card. His card was doing exactly what the new card was doing. Repeated Artifacts and crashing once windows tired to load...

So I figured I'd bake the new one since my old one still worked other than the vid out...

Just like everyone said here. Preheated the oven to 370, Put a sheet of Aluminium Foil down on the baking pan. Rolled up four balls of foil to lift/support the card off of the pan. Baked for 10 mins. Allow it to cool over night.

Brought it to work with me this morning and working like a champ. No artifacts, no crash, and DVI out works.

Thanks again for all the help.

Might want to update the title of the thread to say GPU bake or something. FWIW

Now I can say YIPEEEE for a good reason.

One just can't hold you back, with your simply pure enthusiasm

Now don't push it (the card)
