Can my M17x run this memory? Also how to edit sys properties

an my m17x run this memory:
Kingston HyperX 4GB (2 x 2GB) 204-Pin DDR3 SO-DIMM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Laptop Memory Model KHX1600C9S3K2/4GX


also can i edit my system properties so i can put my alien head back in the properties an model, manufactor, support. Thanks guys!!!

Yes it can run that memory. The "X" at the end of the model number represents XMP. The BIOS of you M17x does not support XMP meaning you will not achieve advertised timings. I would suggest HyperX memory with out the "X" at the end of the model number. Here is what I will be using once I get my system. LINK

This is also the memory NWGuru recommended for me and I am currently using in my rig.

Not a reply, just wondering what is the motherboard used by alienware M17x. Is it the same Ibex Peak as in M15x? and if so can it run i7 + 2 GPUs?

No it cannot. The Calpella architecture is completely different than a Montevina based system. For instance, Calpella does not use FSB and the memory controller is now built into the processor.

I'm sure an I7 system with dual GPUs will be out next year. A Dell rep has already hinted about it.
