Got my system today. It's refurbished, but my laptop was three years old, so I can't complain. I have an external hard drive can someone tell me how I copy all of my old stuff onto it so that I can get it onto this new laptop. My old system was XP and this new one is Vista (waiting for Windows 7 to be delivered). What should I do?

Wonder why it was refurbished, did it come from the Dell Outlet? As far as I know mine will be brand new.

I have a question that I never thought about before.

Complete Care covers accidental damage to the laptop correct? Does it also cover faulty hardware (the laptop dying on it's own)? Was just wondering what part of my warranty to renew when it comes time. This is my current warranty...

i could be wrong but i think all of them come in a package deal. but on mine all i have is the NBD and tech support

Complete care covers the accidentaL Damage which means things like your LCD display.

anything else is covered by the standard warranty

the problem with the basic warranty is any physical signs of damage = no warranty

So in other words, I have to renew all of the above to keep Dell from ripping me off. Check.

The only way to keep DeLL from ripping you off is to not buy DeLL. Just kidding, sorta?

Yes you will, complete care is separate from the standard warranty but worth it in my opinion as anything can happen especially if you have little kids around.

I also find that you get better support with CC
