new laptop info

hi there can any one give me good advise on a new laptop..my two sons are wanting one each for xmas im willing to spend about 380 pounds for each one.....ive been looking on the net but there are so many..also whats the best battery life is 6-cell Lithium-ion any good...please any info on what i should be looking for would be very gratefull

Give me some time to see what is available. I am in the States so not really up on UK offerings. Other than in general more expensive.

6 cell Li-Ion batts are pretty much standard. 9 and 12 are usually extended.

What activities will your boys be wanting these to do? It could determine what is better.

You might want to go direct to HP UK site and see if you can get some offers and discount there. The item at Argos is a bit high for the so-so specs.

I looked last night for UK notebooks. Not good options in UK in that budget. I think qhn and saying HP site is good, also check out DeLL UK. The budget is tuff. I only found as good as you last night.

yeah the UK for laptops is very expensive. with some careful watching you may find something decent though.

what type of games are the kids into? that will help to determine what specs they need and is anything is available within budget that will meet their desires.

Get one with good battery life. Look for at least 10+ hours. There are many different kinds from Dell, Asus, Acer, and other companies.
