I am still not sure it supports trim, but sure it does support garbage collection
post #22 of 36
I think there is still a updated formware to be released to suuport ATA TRIM commands
post #23 of 36
Well the garbage collection just require idle time. You don't actually have to do anything so that is pretty much the same thing.

Newegg now has the Intel G2 OEM on sale. I would bet anything that one has the older firmware also.

I do not think any SSD drives have TRIM yet, they were all waiting for Win 7 to be released so they could finish the development of the firmware
post #25 of 36
The Indilinx based SSDs have the trim firmware.

I have a AW m17

& i upgrade my Hard drive & to Windows 7

can we make a respwan Dvd ?
or is better to make a complete Image back up of the Laptop
is it reliable ? or better to buy a Image backup software ?

or is there another or better way ?

If you just want to "image" a drive - which I do often since hard drives are cheap nowadays - Easus Backup or HD clone are free tools that do a perfect job.

cheers ...

I am not sure if you can restore a Vista backup image within Windows 7. That was why I always "clone" the drive when moving one OS to another.

Do you have the possibility to restore the comp at BIOS start up, and not having to go through Windows, reading the recovery direct from the hidden partition?

cheers ...

I deleted my AlienRespawn partition last night. Why would anyone want to use that utility anyway?
Quick way to go back to factory settings. Useful if your selling the machine.

I blew away the respawn partition also and when the system booted I still selected F10 for respawn. I received a message saying the respawn partition has been removed and do I want to continue. I said yes anyway and respawn still worked..go figure.
