It seems to hang on NBF. I normally use Opera, and in that, one page element takes much longer to load than the rest but while it's loading, I can still do stuff. With IE9, it locks up and doesn't let me do anything until that last page element is loaded.

I noticed that early this morning as well. It is slow at rendering, but once the cache is all up (whatever internal cache is all about) then it is getting smoother. 5-10 minutes into the browsing sessions on all sites.

Personally, I prefer a browser that doesn't need to heavily rely on cached data to load sites.

Actually after the configuration set-up (accelerators, personal preferences ...) then a restart -it seems to perform quite well. NBF is flying at the moment for me.

...2.35 million times in the first 24 hours since its Monday night release, according to Microsoft's data.
Question is how many are actually using it

So after being forced to use IE at work now that my Desktop doesn't work, I can't imagine why ANYONE would choose to use this crappy browser. Every single feature is either a bad copy of another browser, or painfully slow. It boggles my mind...

Lots of software installation require restart if certain part of system files need to be updated - and restarting is the best way to go about it. IE9 (Microsoft products in general) tends to use system files more than other 3rd party apps - so it is normal, nothing bad about it. Google would do the same thing when you start using its Chrome OS, and so does Android with some new apps that need re-springing ... standard procedure.

No. Not for web browsing. Google doesn't require a reboot when you install Chrome.

It just starts working.

Microsoft SUCKs at this. They do the same thing with GFWL... Steam doesn't require you to restart three times, why does GFWL????
