Intel T5250 vs SU9400

I'm not a technical person so I need some help. Dell is sending me a replacement computer since my Inspiron 1520 has too many problems. They are sending an Inspiron 1570 (15z).

My old computer had a Core 2 T5250 and 2GB of DDR2 ram and the new computer has an energy efficient Core 2 SU9400 and 2G of DDR3 Ram.

I use my laptop as a desktop replacment and edit movies, etc. No real gaming. It has always been okay with the old computer.

Are there any negatives to the New processor compared to the old or is it better in every way??

Please help?

Yes thanks but I wanted to know if the new processor is anyway deficient compared to the old chip? I don't care about the energy savings.

As mentioned the SU9400 sports a 1.4Ghz / 3MB L2 Cache / 800FSB, whereas the T5250 offers 1.5Ghz / 2MB L2 Cache / 667FSB.

The hardly noticeable lower CPU speed (1.4 vs 1.5) of the SU9400 can be more than made up with a larger L2 Cache and Front System Bus; thus better performance than the T5250.

How about these other processors, they are other processors offerred in the inspiron 15; are they much better than the Core2 SU9400 or not. Again, I don't care about battery life.

Core 2 P7450
Core 2 T6600

Depends on your wants / needs.

The T5250 is much more powerful. SU9400 will be better for battery usage. I'd choose the SU9400 because I care more about battery than raw power.
